I'm reposting this video, first published about a year ago (Sep 22, 2022), because of its permanent didactic power. Here's Biden's press secretary, the regularly rude Karine Jean-Pierre (KJP), twisting history to school her captive audience on "the horrors of communism." Most people know little about KJP, besides the fact she replaced the mediocre Jean Psaki for the post, which makes KJP little more than another hack and Democratic operator serving one of this century's most virulently imperialist and corrupt administrations. But surely there's more than the condescending facade. So who is this Karine Jean-Pierre? The Wiki's mildly adulatory page offers a few explanatory details:

political campaign organizer, activist, political commentator, and author. She is the 35th White House Press Secretary since May 13, 2022.^[1] She was the White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary from 2021 until 2022. She is the first black person and the first openly LGBTQ person to be Press Secretary.^[2]

Jean-Pierre was the chief of staff for Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris on the 2020 United States presidential campaign and was the first Black woman, and the first lesbian, to ever hold that position.^[3]

The Wiki forgets to mention that Jean-Pierre, besides being an overqualified WOKE specimen given her racial and LGBTQ creds, is also an accomplished red-baiter. This makes Jean-Pierre something of a traitor to the political faith of her parents, reputedly members of Haiti's Lavalas party. For those with no knowledge of Lavalas, or the alarmingly tragic political history of Haiti, all of it underwritten by French and later US imperialism, suffice it to say that Lavalas was led by the genuinely progressive Jean-Bertrand Aristide, a socialist / liberation theology priest who in 1990 became the first democratically-elected president of Haiti.

As a textbook example of what it means to be close to the US (a fate also shared by the Dominican Republic and other nations in the hemisphere, and about which Simon Bolivar duly warned Latin Americans), Aristide's desperately needed reforms, example and great popularity, soon proved too much for the US oligarchy which promptly organised a series of coups and economic sabotage to get rid of the annoying priest. This didn't prove as easy as expected so eventually the empire resorted to abducting Aristide in broad daylight, later dropping him in a "forced exile" in the Central African Republic. Though the usual Haitian right-wing goons and military were involved, this was actually a case in which the whole imperial establishment, foreign and domestic was involved.

American meddling in Haitian affairs goes back at least a century. As even the CIA-redacted Wikipedia notes, "between 1957 and 1986, Haiti was ruled by the family dictatorships of François 'Papa Doc' and Jean-Claude 'Baby Doc' Duvalier, [regimes world-known for their institutionalised thuggery]. The misery endured by Haiti's poor made a deep impression on Aristide himself, and he became an outspoken critic of Duvalierism."

The above details inform my disgust with Jean-Pierre, putting her in the squalid category of probably being a Haitian gusano by choice, gusanos being notorious for their vicious anti-communism and counter-revolutionary obsessions. Not surprising, then, that Jean-Pierre chooses to inflect her political speech with frequent invocations of that old chestnut about people "fleeing Communism" (due to its supposedly repressive nature). It's clear that KJP knows little or nothing about communism, nor why Haiti could benefit enormously from a genuine revolution. Unfortunately, traveling in the privileged circles she does, she has zero chance of learning much about these vital subjects. The always astute Nick Cruse could teach her a thing or two about political reality, but I'm afraid she wouldn't listen. Dommage! —PG

Israel simply wants to push millions of Palestinians out of Israel, into the desert. But with this horrid and cowardly attack Israel committed two war crimes: ethnic cleansing and collective punishment. Upton Sinclair said that it was hard to get a man to understand a thing when his paycheck depended on his not understanding it. There is a parallel to that idea at work in American people today.

Americans live uneasily, in the illusion of democracy, under the most powerful, and determinedly evil, government as has ever existed. Most may not read on, outraged in moral certainty the assertion is insane. Moral certainty has gotten us where we are.

For those who wished to know the truth of America’s Capitalist Empire and were capable of facing it, it was always available, and it continues to be. To cite America’s criminal history would take volumes, and those volumes already exist, for those with courage to peruse them. The Empire’s catalogue of criminality is not in question by the informed. It is indisputable: a given.

The vast mass of the ignorant have been made so by scientific propaganda, and they have lost their capacity for independent thought. They were powerless to prevent the creation of their opinion, and they are sure their views about America are their own, individually arrived at. That makes them hard to modify.

Positive revitalization of the propagandized American mind will not occur. Not now; not ever. Facts or events that challenge the existing complex of American’s prejudices and certainties will effect no change in entrenched, received opinion. The captivity of the American conscience is total and permanent.

The long history of The Empire’s purposeful, cynical erasure of American’s ability to know the truth of their government’s villainy has trained them to eagerly embrace the agents and causes of their betrayal. This is tragic on a monumental scale because The Empire’s crash will be paid for most punishingly by its people.

The poisonous propaganda was never partisan. It was not an exclusive product of a party or political ideology, of left or right, liberal or conservative, progressive or reactionary. It is a quasi-religious dogma that exalts the dominion and hegemony of a Super Race that has exploited and enslaved the world for its profit. As in every historic empire, stimulation of human vanity insures that the mass feels its identity with the controlling power, feels at one with it, even as it is absolutely subjected by it.

This is a process as old as history. It was refined and reinforced by terror in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, but it was so perfected by the American Empire that bloody, flagrant terror was not needed. What Orwell wrote of presciently has been fully instituted. Americans, left and right, liberal or proto-fascist, are irretrievably in the thrall of Capitalist dogma, and happy to be.

CAPITALISM'S LOSERS: A homeless man in America, an increasingly common sight in all major Americans cities as the social disease behind the phenomenon is systemic.

Consider these obscenities. The last seventy years of wars with no benefit at all to Americans. Fifty years of wage stagnation and inflation with no legislation for working people. The greatest wealth gap between super rich and average Americans in history. The most expensive, inadequate health care of any major nation, in which millions go broke and die while drug companies gouge them. An education system run for profit, not content or quality. A justice system that jails the poor and enables rich criminals. A political system in which the elite select figureheads and placate the hoodwinked electorate by permitting it to endorse them.

These, of course, are general indictments. There are specific horrors to expose. The Empire, having enriched its War Machine with decades of profitable failures—in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria—is pursuing two egregious crimes against humanity at once, in Ukraine and Israel. In one it goads and funds a vicious neo-Nazi regime in a brutal farce fueled by slaughter of its own people for the sole purpose, ludicrous on its face, of “weakening Russia”. In the other, it aids and supports a neo-Nazi regime in extermination of the race it raped and dispossessed to entrench its vicious military tyranny. In neither of these evil enormities is there an iota of moral justification, or a scintilla of benefit, to the deluded American people. But it pays for them.

As empires decay, their governments exude the odor of death, and so it is with ours. The pretense of competence, or even of a minimal capability, can no longer be sustained by it. In the next Presidential election, a gross, boorish, criminal buffoon will face a senile, lying, criminal clown. The Senate is a geriatric rest home and hospice for the moribund, and the House is a ululating zoo of queer fauna, loony, furious and irreconcilable, and with no sane keeper. Agencies and bureaus are staffed and managed to subvert and betray the functions they were designed to perform.

In his usual gentlemanly and lucid style, Emil Cosman effectively denounces what he correctly perceives as the colossal hypocrisy of the US government and the West, in general, in calling themselves great champions of liberty and free speech, but cynically controlling mass media through a massive Orwellian machinery of outright disinformation, threats and covert blocking. The latest case—fortunately for anti-imperialist/ liberal interventionists—is Tucker Carlson being mugged by the establishment, a mugging that, touching the raw nerve of tens of millions of conservatives and Trumpites, is not liable to remain under wraps for long. Another clumsy move of the West. Of course, the Western imperialists are in a huge bind, largely of their own making. If they start telling the truth, after eons of unrelenting lies and self-flattering myths, including naked false flags and criminal acts all over the place, they rapidly destroy the foundations of their political legitimacy and credibility. If they do not, reality will catch up with them, as we already see in an ever rising tidal wave of revelations that leave little room for doubt. Not to mention the rise, at long last, of rival peer powers with much healthier values.

Carlson –previously Fox News’ biggest star– parted ways with the broadcaster in April shortly after the news network settled for $787.5 million a lawsuit with voting-machine company Dominion Voting Systems. Fox News had regularly discussed claims on some of its shows that Dominion’s machines were involved in ‘rigging’ the 2020 US presidential election. Carlson’s show Tucker Carlson Tonight, during which he frequently discussed issues like gender, race, sexuality and ‘woke’ ideology, was specifically referenced in the Dominion lawsuit. Since leaving Fox News, Carlson has broadcast abridged versions of his news show on X (formerly Twitter) which regularly draw tens of millions of views. Meanwhile, Russia TV news channel Rossiya 24 has aired a teaser trailer for a weekend show it says is to be hosted by Carlson. The promo was first broadcast earlier this month and again on September 22 along with the words “at the weekend.” It adds that the “high-profile American presenter is moving to another level. Here.” Rossiya 24 didn’t state when the show will debut or if it will be original content or translated versions of Carlson’s X broadcasts. Four women have alleged sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013, while he was a presenter for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4 and then an actor in Hollywood films. Others have made a range of accusations about Brand’s controlling, abusive and predatory behaviour. Brand denied the allegations and said his relationships have all been consensual. The findings come from a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches.
