JOSMAR JARAMILLO—Is the mayor actually anti-police? While the Post can’t be bothered to look into his record on policing, we know that de Blasio has refused to fire Pantaleo for over five years, shielded officer misconduct from the public, allowed the department to obtain drone technology and added 1,300 cops to the city. If that doesn’t sound like any “anti-police” official you know, don’t worry, Lynch’s point isn’t to say anything that’s true, it’s to drive the political goalposts to the right by accusing a pro-police mayor of the exact opposite—and the media allow it.

Lee correctly reminds us that the presstitutes are loathe to have a broader conversation on the role of police in American society. How many people even know what Eric’s “crime” was before being taken down by a bunch of moronic goons? Or that the US leads the world by several magnitudes in the numbers of civilians killed by police every year with total impunity? Certainly there’s something wrong here, but, as Lee points out, the ruling class is not enthusiastic about restraining its attack dogs, its fist to contain the average working stiff.

The Police Were Created to Control Working Class and Poor People, Not ‘Serve and Protect’
20 minutes readSAM MITRANI—The police were not created to protect and serve the population. They were not created to stop crime, at least not as most people understand it. And they were certainly not created to promote justice. They were created to protect the new form of wage-labor capitalism that emerged in the mid- to late-19th century from the threat posed by that system’s offspring, the working class. This is a blunt way of stating a nuanced truth, but sometimes nuance just serves to obfuscate.

A French cop on why French cops will never join the Yellow Vests
32 minutes readRAMIN MAZAHERI—The idea among Yellow Vests that cops will switch sides could only come from those who are fundamentally conservative and thus have never attended an anti-government protest before… as is the self-professed case with many, many Yellow Vests. Six months later they still don’t believe their own eyes, mainly because the idea causes such intense cognitive dissonance due to their “glorious” view of France’s “revolutionary” history – but because they have not updated their political thought in 200+ years, they cannot be revolutionaries in the 21st century.

How Chicago Police Infiltrated, Spied on Anti-NATO Organizers
14 minutes readANDY THAYER—That Chicago under soon-to-be-former Mayor Rahm Emanuel spied on anti-war activists will come as little surprise to those with a passing knowledge of the city’s history and politics.Others have previously documented how the Obama administration worked with city governments around the country, including Chicago, to use police to harass the Occupy movement out of existence. And in the run up to the NATO conference, two CPD officers worked to entrap three young, would-be protesters on “terrorism” charges, plying them with alcohol and goading them to say reckless things on tape to “prove” their case.
