BRIAN BERLETIC—US meddling is far from confined to Ukraine as part of its proxy war with Russia. The US pursues a similar policy against China by targeting nations all across China’s periphery. The US government through the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and its subsidiaries has sponsored opposition parties and organizations in Cambodia for years including Kem Sokha’s Cambodian National Rescue Party. In 2017 Kem Sokha openly admitted to working with the US to overthrow the Cambodian government in a Washington-sponsored Serbia-style color revolution. Cambodia has now jailed Kem Sokha for 27 years for treason.

ERIC ZUESSE—That is why the U.S. Government is so alarmed. Whether a world-annihilating nuclear war — or else a global dictatorship — can be avoided is the question, and the only possibility for hope would be for the existing U.S. regime to become replaced by a decent Government that has some concern for the public, which is a concern that hasn’t dominated in the U.S. Government ever since 25 July 1945, when the empire took control of the country.

NORA HOPPE—The arts – in their truest and noblest forms – have always posed a serious threat to despotic powers because they represent a freedom of spirit and independence of thought. During the Third Reich, the Nazis engaged in “Cancel Culture” by censoring various forms of music, literature, films, theatre plays that were considered an “insult to German feeling” and which they condemned as “Entartete Kunst” [degenerate art]. Instead, they promoted works that exalted the “blood and soil” values of racial purity, militarism, and obedience.

JIMMY DORE SHOW—Rachel Maddow famously ran a remarkably duplicitous, even for her, story about the recent anti-war rally in Washington DC, focusing on fringe elements and even outright lying about who attended. But another reporter on her network, Marissa Parra, covered the event honestly, actually interviewing attendees for their perspective and acknowledging the myriad viewpoints represented by speakers who set aside their differences to collectively call for a negotiated resolution to the Ukraine conflict. Guest host Aaron Maté and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger note that this superior segment on the rally could not be found anywhere on the MSNBC website or YouTube channel.
