Update on Ukraine: Kerch Bridge, Foreign Troops, and much more
35 minutes readALEKS—So, is the Kerch Bridge a military target? Yes, and an important one indeed. I’ll explain later in more depth, but for starters, think about the cargo volume (civilian and military) and civilians traveling between Krasnodar and Crimea daily/weekly/monthly. Roughly five million people need to be supplied. Disrupting this logistics artery for an extended period during wartime and during the holiday season would be disastrous. Everyone focuses on the question of whether it would influence the war or its outcome. Fine, but what about the people living in Crimea?

SPUTNIK—“The regime in Kiev and its Western abettors should finally realize that their reckless steps are bringing the situation ever closer to the accumulation of an explosive ‘critical mass’,” Moscow warned, urging the other side to rethink its positions.
Separately on Monday, the Ministry summoned British Ambassador to Russia Nigel Casey to warn him over the implications of Foreign Minister David Cameron’s comments during his May 2 visit to Kiev about the admissibility of using British weaponry to carry out strikes on Russian territory, stressing that the comments signal London’s admission of its role as a direct party to the Ukrainian crisis, and that Moscow will treat it accordingly.
“The ambassador was told that the Russian side views D. Cameron’s words as evidence of a serious escalation, and confirmation of London’s growing involvement in military operations on the side of Kiev. N. Casey was warned that the response to Ukrainian strikes using British weapons on Russian territory could include any British military facilities and equipment on the territory of Ukraine and beyond,” the ministry said.

EDITOR—A terrific double feature with analyses by Garland and Scott Ritter on the Ukrainian and Middle Eastern situation, including Scott’s interpretation of Washington’s maneuvers to infiltrate and “zombify” countries in the former Soviet sphere of influence in order to weaken and defeat Russia, eliminating her as a major player and obstacle to America’s hegemonic designs around the globe. In the second video, an interview with Dmitri Zolotarev, a journalist born an raised in the Soviet Union, sheds light on what the Soviet system was really like, and how Western propaganda has completely disfigured the truth about that society. Zolotarev notes that Soviet citizens knew much more about the truth of life in the West than viceversa. Zolotarev obviously regrets that the Western mind is so crippled by shameless lies about Russia, Putin, socialism, etc., all of which is bringing the world ever closer to a horrendus war.
