If Ukraine’s tanks are moving and the Russians are losing, according to Lipson, then why does Ukraine desperately need hundreds of tanks from the West? If Ukraine is winning and Russia is being defeated on the battlefield, why is the West not preparing its victory party? Cobbling together a failed NATO summit in Ramstein this past week is not a sign that the West is confident of Ukraine’s military prospects.

Yet according to the western political/media class, the urgent threat of our day is “Chinese aggression”. After the House of Representatives voted to approve the new Select Committee on China — a Republican initiative designed to increase internal pressure in the US government to ramp up the new cold war — the committee’s chairman Mike Gallagher put out a statement saying that it is “time to push back against the Chinese Communist Party’s aggression in bipartisan fashion.”

ANDREW KORYBKO—The Ukrainian regime’s stability is being tested like never before because its “deep state” dynamics haven’t ever been this dangerous nor destabilizing. Anti-Zelensky elements are arguably colluding with one of the US’ “deep state” factions (though it presently remains unclear which one), his secret police are split into at least two fiercely competing factions, and his military intelligence is now emerging as a separate pole of power amidst all of this.

ANDREW KORYBKO—In remarks that he made while in Buenos Aires on Monday, one of the literal founders of BRICS shockingly declared that “In the same way that I am against the territorial occupation, as Russia did to Ukraine, I am against too much interference in the Venezuelan process.” Quite clearly, Lula was implying that Russia’s military efforts to restore the integrity of its national security red lines in Ukraine after NATO crossed them there are morally equivalent to the US’ unprovoked Hybrid War aggression against Venezuela.
