DEFEAT CAPITALISM AND ITS DEADLY SPAWN, IMPERIALISM
ecological murder •

During December 2022, Angela Merkel let a mad cat out of a dark bag.  Soon after, the previous French president Hollande confirmed that they only signed the Minsk agreements to afford the time for the Ukraine, to build up its warfighting capability.

Background

The Minsk agreements were a series of international agreements which sought to end the shelling into what was called at the time, the Donbas regions of the Ukraine, after these regions (Lugansk and Donetsk) declared that they would stand separate from the Ukraine and would not accept the 2014 Maidan color revolution or the overthrow of the then Ukrainian president Yanukovych.  We have such vivid memories of the time, as Victoria Nuland carried cookies to the protestors at the Maidan, and we have her appointing a new leader for the Ukraine:  “Yats is our man!  F... the EU”.   Today, the collective West has given this overthrow a name:  The revolution of dignity, they are trying to call it.  There was no dignity, no honesty, no real assistance for the Ukraine.  There was only a cheap overthrow in order to use the Ukraine as a weapon against Russia.  The most mind-blowing during the time of the Maidan and now, for me personally, was to see the deep hooks that neonazism and neofascists still have on the collective west.  This is a history of how long this has been so and how easily the enemy is flipped.  The hegemon uses both sides of the fence and the middle.

The Ukraine is a 75-year proxy of the US and specifically through clandestine operations of the CIA and forebears.

“Its task was a carry-over from the World War II covert action agency, the OSS, which had worked with partisan groups resisting the Nazi occupation. In Ukraine, the U.S. simply flipped the enemy by supporting Nazi insurgent organizations fighting the Soviet Union, the country that had just saved Europe from the scourge of Hitler’s Third Reich.

The CIA’s plan, part of its “stay behind” operations in Central and Eastern Europe, was to airdrop Ukrainians from the ultra-nationalist groups, in particular OUN-B, that would involve the smuggling of weapons, the uses of covert communication transmissions, spies, commandos, banditry, assassins and sabotage.” https://covertactionmagazine.com/2022/09/12/ukraine-the-cias-75-year-old-proxy/

Nobody is what they seem to be :

Operation Unthinkable recently declassified must still be active. It is the only explanation for the neonazis and neofascists seemingly appearing out of the dust or the air in our world. This is generational. https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/education/resources/cold-war-on-file/operation-unthinkable/

Minsk I known as the Minsk Protocol was drafted in 2014 by the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine, consisting of Ukraine, Russia, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) with mediation by the leaders of France and Germany in the so-called Normandy Format. After extensive talks in Minsk, Belarus, the agreement was signed on 5 September 2014 by representatives of the Trilateral Contact Group and, without recognition of their status, by the then-leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). This agreement followed multiple previous attempts to stop the fighting in the region and aimed to implement an immediate ceasefire.

The OSCE was formally assigned to hold a special monitoring mission but soon showed that their actual mission was to keep the killing going and hide the excesses of the major neonazi groups in the Ukraine.

The agreement failed to stop fighting and was followed with a revised and updated agreement, Minsk II, which was signed on 12 February 2015. This agreement consisted of a package of measures, including a ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line, release of prisoners of war, constitutional reform in Ukraine granting self-government to certain areas of Donbas and Lugansk, restoring control of the state border to the Ukrainian government.  A UN resolution 2022 was passed.  This was truly a simple agreement and nobody can say they did not understand it.  It literally said .. Stop Firing, Withdraw Heavy Weapons from the Contact Line, Release Prisoners of War, and Let’s Talk.

While fighting somewhat subsided following the agreement’s signing, it never ended completely, and the agreement’s provisions were never fully implemented.  And then Ukraine again started massing military forces on the contact line between itself and the two republics.

During the eight years of fighting, we saw Ukrainian soldiers constantly shelling civilians and non-combatants, children and schools in the two republics, the rate of death of non-combatants and civilians increased, and a consistent false message was spread in the west that Russia is not fulfilling Minsk, whereas Russia had no real responsibility.  We saw the collective west being the thief who shouts "stop thief."

[Given the massive war preparations by Kiev ] Russia finally took action and officially recognized the DPR and LPR on 21 February 2022, declared the Minsk agreements null and void, and started its special military operation in the Ukraine on 24 February 2022.  Since then the war has been one of attrition, and the endpoint we can only speculate about.

So, with the cat out of the bag and after this very short background, let’s define and call out the major uglies in this story that has certainly not reached its end yet..

This is one of the most heinous acts of betrayal, lying, and criminal misdirection in the last 20 years.  Not only did they lie to their own 57 participating states, but they also lied to the world, including you and me.  This continued throughout the period of shelling of the Donbas and the actions of the OSCE can probably be counted as one of the most heinous and cold-blooded acts of [complicity in] terror in our modern history.

This level of deceit is of course not new.  In operation Unthinkable, classified for 60 years, just after the 2nd World War, the opening paragraph states:

  • The undertaking has the full support of public opinion in the British Empire and the United States and consequently, the morale of British and American troops continues high.
  • Great Britain and the United States have full assistance from the Polish armed forces and can count upon the use of German manpower and what remains of German industrial capacity.  (Note:  the war was hardly over yet when German manpower and industrial capacity was recruited to start a new war against Russia  Yalta was 4–11 February 1945.)
  • No credit is taken for assistance from the forces of the other Western Powers, although any bases in their territory, or other facilities which may be required, are made available
  • Russia allies herself with Japan (Note:  this was a lie and deception).
  • The date for the opening of hostilities is 1st July, 1945.
  • Redeployment and release schemes continue till 1st July and then stop

The stated object was “to impose upon Russia the will of the United States and British Empire. The goal was “the elimination of Russia” as a country. Winston Churchill was trying to start WW III.

The second Uglies The likes of Merkel and Hollande fit into the annals of war criminals.  Not only did they lie to the UN, they lied to you and me and the world.  Here are the people that were openly deceived.  https://press.un.org/en/2015/sc11785.doc.htm
The Minsk agreements were to be implemented as part of international law according to Resolution 2022.  Merkel and Hollande stated that these agreements were entered into purely to buy time for the Ukraine.  In any reasonable legal system, this would be classified as a breach of contract on steroids.  Besides civil law, there is sufficient criminal law to hold them accountable.   https://www.rt.com/russia/569222-hollande-merkel-minsk-ukraine/Is  Is this perhaps why both of them are spilling the beans? Do they think this little bit of honesty at this stage would bring forgiveness for all the lives lost? But that is speculation for another time.

The third Ugly:  NATO is lying to the world. According to Stoltenberg war is indeed peace. The more weapons we give to the Ukraine, he says, the more they shoot, the more peace there will be.  But compare with Minsk.  Ceasefire in war happens when the shooting stops.

Let’s see, who did the OSCE and Merkel and Hollande, and currently NATO, lie to and who did they betray?  The Russian government for sure, the European Union and the rest of Europe, the UN because, and you and me, peaceful people, who had hope for a resolution without war in the Ukraine and for Russia in terms of its security needs.

Europe is falling into cold storage because of its own betrayal.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave… After Angela Merkel bragged about Western perfidy: “’The West lied about peace but was preparing for aggression’ ‘cynically using Ukraine and its people to weaken and divide Russia,’ Putin said.

Look at them, and when you see them … shout out!  Call them what they are …. You lie, you cheat, you steal, and you have entire training courses in order to carry out deception.  You deceive an entire world.

Some mini-Uglies Israeli diplomats admitted that they cannot yet influence the problem of glorifying the ideologue of Ukrainian nationalism Stepan Bandera in Ukraine, Haaretz reported.

What can be done?  It surprises me that China, and Russia and others do not remove US, British, French and German embassies and ambassadors completely from their countries.  Surely a small consular office can take care of passports and travel documents and do the paperwork.  [It is well established that US embassies are centers for regime change around the world]. Is it not time that we get the message that the current hegemon will bite fast to whatever it can, and will not be displaced by any normal methods?

Ukraine war tolls death knell for NATO

Please share this article as widely as you can.

DEFEAT CAPITALISM AND ITS DEADLY SPAWN, IMPERIALISM
ecological murder •

he defining moment in US President Joe Biden’s press conference at the White House last Wednesday, during President Zelensky’s visit, was his virtual admission that he is constrained in the proxy war in Ukraine, as European allies don’t want a war with Russia.

To quote Biden, “Now, you say, ‘Why don’t we just give Ukraine everything there is to give?’  Well, for two reasons. One, there’s an entire Alliance that is critical to stay with Ukraine.  And the idea that we would give Ukraine material that is fundamentally different than is already going there would have a prospect of breaking up NATO and breaking up the European Union and the rest of the world… I’ve spent several hundred hours face-to-face with our European allies and the heads of state of those countries, and making the case as to why it was overwhelmingly in their interest that they continue to support Ukraine… They understand it fully, but they’re not looking to go to war with Russia.  They’re not looking for a third World War.”

Biden realised at that point that “I probably already said too much” and abruptly ended the press conference. He probably forgot that he was dwelling on the fragility of Western unity.

The whole point is that the western commentariat largely forgets that Russia’s core agenda is not about territorial conquest — much as Ukraine is vital to Russian interests — but about NATO expansion. And that has not changed.

Every now and then President Putin revisits the fundamental theme that the US consistently aimed to weaken and dismember Russia. As recently as last Wednesday, Putin invoked the Chechen war in the 1990s — “the use of international terrorists in the Caucasus, to finish off Russia and to split the Russian Federation… They [US] claimed to condemn al-Qaeda and other criminals, yet they considered using them on the territory of Russia as acceptable and provided all kinds of assistance to them, including material, information, political and any other support, notably military support, to encourage them to continue fighting against Russia.”

Putin has a phenomenal memory and would have been alluding to Biden’s careful choice of William Burns as his CIA chief. Burns was Moscow Embassy’s point person for Chechnya in the 1990s! Putin has now ordered a nation-wide campaign to root out the vast tentacles that the US intelligence planted on Russian soil for internal subversion. Carnegie, once headed by Burns, has since shut down its Moscow office, and the Russian staff fled to the West!

The leitmotif of the expanded meeting of the Board of the Defence Ministry in Moscow on Wednesday, which Putin addressed, was the profound reality that Russia’s confrontation with the US is not going to end with Ukraine war. Putin exhorted the Russian top brass to “carefully analyse” the lessons of Ukraine and Syrian conflicts.

Importantly, Putin said, “We will continue maintaining and improving the combat readiness of the nuclear triad. It is the main guarantee that our sovereignty and territorial integrity, strategic parity and the general balance of forces in the world are preserved. This year, the level of modern armaments in the strategic nuclear forces has already exceeded 91 percent. We continue rearming the regiments of our strategic missile forces with modern missile systems with Avangard hypersonic warheads.”

Equally, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu proposed at Wednesday’s meeting a military build-up “to bolster Russia’s security,” including:

Increase in the size of the Armed Forces to 1.5 million service personnel, with 695,000 people serving under contract.
Putin summed up: “We will not repeat the mistakes of the past… We are not going to militarise our country or militarise the economy… and we will not do things we do not really need, to the detriment of our people and the economy, the social sphere. We will improve the Russian Armed Forces and the entire military component. We will do it calmly, routinely and consistently, without haste.”

If the neocons in the driving seat in the Beltway wanted an arms race, they have it now. The paradox, however, is that this is going to be different from the bipolar Cold War era arms race.

If the US intention was to weaken Russia before confronting China, things aren’t working that way. Instead, the US is getting locked into a confrontation with Russia and the ties between the two big powers are at a breaking point. Russia expects the US to roll back NATO’s expansion, as promised to the Soviet leadership in 1989.

The neocons had expected a “win-win” in Ukraine: Russian defeat and a disgraceful end to Putin presidency; a weakened Russia, as in the 1990s, groping for a new start; consolidation of western unity under a triumphant America; a massive boost in the upcoming struggle with China for supremacy in the world order; and a New American Century under the “rules-based world order”.

But instead, this is turning out to be a classic Zugzwang in  the endgame — to borrow from German chess literature — where the US is under obligation to make a move on Ukraine but whichever move it makes will only worsen its geopolitical position.

Biden has understood that Russia cannot be defeated in Ukraine; nor are Russian people in any mood for an insurrection. Putin’s popularity is soaring high, as Russian objectives in Ukraine are being steadily realised. Thus, Biden is getting a vague sense, perhaps, that Russia isn’t exactly seeing things in Ukraine as a binary of victory and defeat, but is gearing up for the long haul to sort out NATO once and for all.

The transformation of Belarus as a “nuclear-capable” state carries a profound message from Moscow to Brussels and Washington. Biden cannot miss it. (See my blog NATO nuclear compass rendered unavailing, Indian Punchline, Dec. 21, 2022.

Logically, the option open to the US at this point would be to disengage. But that becomes an abject admission of defeat and will mean the death knell for the NATO, and Washington’s transatlantic leadership goes kaput. And, worse still, major west European powers — Germany, France and Italy — may start looking for a modus vivendi with Russia. Above all, how can NATO possibly survive without an “enemy”?

Clearly, neither the US nor its allies are in a position to fight a continental war. But even if they are, what about the emerging scenario in the Asia-Pacific, where the “no limits” partnership between China and Russia has added an intriguing layer in the geopolitics?

The neocons in the Beltway have bitten more than what they could chew. Their last card will be to push for a direct US military intervention in the Ukraine war under the banner of a “coalition of the willing.”

Making sense of NATO strikes against Russia

Please share this article as widely as you can.

DEFEAT CAPITALISM AND ITS DEADLY SPAWN, IMPERIALISM
ecological murder •
Andrei Raevsky
THE SAKER

There is no doubt that NATO is trying hard to escalate the war in the Ukraine.  Just before the end of the year there were two drone strikes against a major Aerospace Forces base in Engels.  The attacks were not very successful, but Russians did die when shrapnel hit a fuel truck that exploded.  The importance of that attack was that Engels is located deep inside Russia.

Then there were assorted small attacks against various Russian border posts and towns near the Russian border.

And now this on one day:

Ukrainian drone hits energy facility inside Russia – governor

and

Dozens dead in Ukrainian strike on Russian troops – Moscow

What is left of Russian barracks in Makeevka following a HIMARS strike

Let’s first deal with the second headline.  The first thing we need to say is that this was clearly a legal target under the laws of war: NATO hit Russian military personnel, and that is a fully legal target.  However, if we look just a tad deeper, we realize that the HIMARS attack was clearly conducted by western “volunteers/advisors”, that is to say NATO personnel who took off their uniform and are under cover.  Still, this is still yet another direct NATO attack on Russian soldiers.

[Sidebar: this is the type of attack HIMARS are very good at: precision strikes against fragile targets.  HIMARS has very good range and precision, but their warheads are too small to successfully take out harder targets, such as bridges or bunkers.  HIMARS, especially backed by the full US/NATO C4ISR capabilities, do represent a major threat to any “soft” targets like, in this case, wooden barracks]

I would note that only a clueless civilian could expect NATO to never do anything, offer no resistance, take no counter-measures, never succeed or hit Russians were in hurts.  The truth in warfare is that the enemy will shoot back (at least in a real war, not a counter-insurgency operation against a vastly inferior adversary).

But what about the rest of these strikes, especially those aimed at Russian territory (as it was before the liberation of Ukrainian regions)?

So we need to ask a basic question: what is the goal of these strikes?

Let’s begin with some truisms:

First, none of these strikes will make ANY difference on the actual course of this war.  Just like the Israeli strikes against Lebanon or Syria (latest one today, killed two Syrians and damaged the facilities).  However, while the Israeli strikes on Syria are for “psychotherapeutic reasons” (I have explained that MANY times in the past), this is not the case with NATO strikes, including the “non-claimed” ones against Engels.

Second, after each of these strikes many people will wonder what Russia will do about it.  The precedent is the attack on the Crimean bridge which gave Russia a pretext to switch off the lights in Banderastan. And yes, it was clearly only a pretext, as such massive strikes campaign cannot be quickly planned and executed in a few hours/days.  The self-evident truth is that the Russians were quite ready to unleash their strikes long BEFORE the Crimean Bridge attack, but that they were more than happy to have that attack as a pretext (as opposed to a *reason*) to strike.

And, if you wonder, Russia is still conducting such strikes on a daily basis, including strikes involving hundreds of missiles!  These follow on strikes are almost not reported in the western media because 1) “Ze” banned any images/videos of the results of these strikes and 2) reporting their true magnitude would undermine the official narrative (including the one about Russia running out of ammo).

Still, NATO does not act just to show that it can act.  There is a real, military, purpose behind these strikes.  And it is not “just” to provoke Russia into some kind of response (not with tens and even hundreds of Russian missile strikes every day already taking place).

The war is already going on, the Russians are already fighting along a very long frontline, the Russian Aerospace Forces are already striking targets over the entire Ukraine, so what is there more to provoke/trigger?

I submit that there is only one thing which the Russians have not done yet, and that is the fullscale combined arms operation the Russian General Staff is obviously preparing.  And since this major offensive is almost certain to happen, the only thing which such NATO strikes could affect is the timing of the attack.  And since there is no way that these NATO (pinprick) strikes could delay the Russian offensive, their only possibly goal would be to make it happen sooner.

Why would NATO want the Russian offensive sooner rather than later?  In all its other actions, the AngloZionists have tried to draw out this war for as long as possible, so why would they want to make the Russians attack sooner rather than later?

Because the Russian General Staff is waiting for all the “ducks to be lined” up before attacking.  Thus by trying to force the Russians into a premature attack date, NATO is, very logically, trying to prevent all the said “ducks” to be “lined up”.  In other words, NATO is trying to force the hand of the Russian General Staff by increasing the pressure on the Kremlin to “finally take action”.

Trying to force your enemy into a premature attack makes perfect military sense (as would any effort to seize the initiative and impose your tempo on your enemy).

These efforts are greatly aided by the following categories:

  • Civilians who don’t understand warfare
  • Infantiles who get outraged every time NATO successfully strikes Russian targets
  • Western (fake) “friends of Russia” who mantrically repeat that “Putin is weak/indicisive/naive/fill_the_blank
  • Western PSYOPS who want to spread FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubts) in the Russian general public

These four groups form a rather loud crowd who act EXACTLY as the AngloZionist want them to.

So how effective are these NATO efforts?

Here we need to mention a deep cultural difference between the Russian society and the western one: most Russians have a much better understanding of war than the folks in the West.  This is true for civilians all the way through the generals.  There are many reasons for that, but just to name a few:

  • Many Russians have military training (basic or more advanced)
  • Almost every Russian has lost family members during WWII and, therefore, know how ugly war is.
  • Russian culture, from books to movies, is chock full of war stories, and not of the Tom Clancy type, but the real thing.
  • Wars in Chechnia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Georgia, Syria, Armenia and many more conflicts have “educated” the Russian society about the painful realities of war.

Unlike the hallucinations of the (fake) “friends of Russia” in the West, the “Strelkovites” and other assorted “allislosters” in Russia have very little traction or credibility with the Russian general public.  Simply put – Russians trust Surovikin (and Putin!) much, much, more than these hysterical FUDers because they instinctively feel that what is needed is not anger, but focus.

Conclusion:

NATO is trying really hard to force the Russians into a “NATO schedule” and out of their planned schedule.  An added beneficial side-effect from such “for optics only” strikes is to give the morons in Congress a rationale to put even more money into the US MIC.

As for forcing Russia to attack in suboptimal conditions, that won’t happen.  Neither Putin, nor Shoigu, nor Gerasimov nor Surovikin are the types who will respond to hysterics with “for optics only” actions (just look at their faces, I mean it!). And this also goes for the entire General Staff.

I fully concur with those who, like Macgregor, have been announcing a major combined arms offensive this Spring, but it will happen when Putin decides it, not when NATO wants it.  Right now, the Russian meat grinder is inflicting such losses on the Ukraine that it really makes no sense for the Russians to stop it.  But, sooner or later, even this will eventually yield diminishing marginal returns and, by then, the Russian forces (there are three of them around the Ukraine) will be fully ready, trained, equipped and poised to attack.

The big unknown (to us, the Russians probably already know) is what NATO will do when this offensive happens.  You can be sure that the “best” minds (relatively speaking) in the US are working on the following task: how to trigger a continental war without directly and officially involving the United States?

Any suggestions?

—Andrei

WHY IS RUSSIA DRAMATICALLY INCREASING THE SIZE OF ITS MILITARY?

After a long period of trying diplomacy to achieve a just peace with the US bloc, the compulsive World Hegemon, which, for no reason except its perennial impulse to dominate any competing sovereign nations like Russia, Moscow has finally accepted the reality that a full-blown war between the USA/NATO and the emerging Eurasian bloc, Russia, China, Iran, etc., is now inevitable. It is therefore making serious preparations for a war that (barring a nuclear exchange) may go on for generations. Contrary to constant Western propaganda, Russia does not wish and has never wished to invade and conquer Western Europe. As the largest country on Earth it scarcely needs to grab more territory. Its needs are defensive and strategic. And wholly justifiable. It is basically the Anglo-Americans that have meddled in Russian affairs and maneuvered for at least a century to destroy Russia as an independent world power. Now they are willing to sacrifice even their European vassals to attain that vile goal.
